    Hi
    I’ve downloaded some videos from OReilly and would like to play them on my Sony NWZ-A845
    They are in Mp4 format but the quality is to high so I have run one through converter lite 1.5 at the lowest resolution setting and kept it as an MP4
    The converted video plays fine in media player but when I transfer it to the device there is no sound and it is playing in some sort of fast forward mode ?
    I tried a couple of other resolutions but the same result
    I notice you have a Sony option but the NWZ-A845 is not shown
    Hope you can help as it would be really great to get this working

      Hello. We’re not entirely sure why this is occuring so we have had to try something new. Try selecting MP4 as an output and clicking settings. Then remove everything from the ffmpeg arguments and copy and paste the following. “-s 720×480 -r 30000/1001 -b 400k -bt 240k -vcodec libx264 -acodec libvo_aacenc -ac 2 -ar 48000 -ab 192k”. Then convert.

        Thanks for your prompt response.

        I’ve tried your suggestion.

        Initially I did not select a size and just pased your command string in but it did not run the conversion process

        So I quit, started again and selected 720×480, pasted in your string and clicked convert

        This time it did convert and still displays fine in media player

        However when I transfer it to the device I get an error saying  “Cannot play file. Format is not supported”

        Interestingly widos explorer shows the frame width to be 720 BUT the height to be 406 ? odd ? could this be the problem ?

        Incase you have not found the specs for the NWZ-A845 i’ve attached and image from the relevant secion of the manual

           We’re not entirely sure why this is happening. Have you tried converting to WMV?  It looks as though the NWZ should support WMV

            I’ve tried WMV from another compter and this now seems to work alothough …. When I choose 720×480 wmv and convert it it comes out 2-3 time the original file mp4 size. Then when transferring to the device using the Sony Content Transfer program it goes through another conversion process and the resulting file is half the ORIGNAL mp4 size ?? So it’s a bit long winded but it does seem to work

    Nice little application. One small problem I noticed was that when the conversion has completed it still shows 3% left to convert. I checked the output file and is working fine. No error message appear either.

       This is an odd little glitch. Not quite sure why that happened. Maybe the speed of your computer didn’t pick up the final 3%? Thank you for the compliment!

    Just downloaded the program to convert my music from .m4a to mp3 so I can burn a cd (yeah wifey still stuck on using cd’s) but it I am getting this message (see image). Files play fine on here and on my Droid RAZR but they don’t seem to be readable by your program. Thanks for any help you can give me.

      We have converted an M4A to MP£ without issue. Where did you get the files from? They may be DRM protected. If it isn’t protected then we should convert it so try sending us the file via: https://converterlite.uservoice.com

      VOB Files are a container format for DVD’s. They are only used for DVD’s. We have a DVD Burning option. Insert a blank disc and burn your MKV files to DVD.

      Go to My Computer
      Click Local Disk (C:)
      Type ConverterLite in the search bar usually situated on the top-right.

    Downloaded this program and unchecked all boxes taking over my browser and search but that was not honored. 
    Very disappointed as it appears to be a good tool.

      Are you sure you unchecked every box? It would be impossible to install anything without accepting them first.

    Downloaded Version 1.5 but continues to open version 1.4 desktop and asks me if I want to upgrade to 1.5. It is as though it did not remove 1.4 and replace it ??

    Downloaded installer but it hangs at the “choose installation type” screen. quick install is highlighted but there isnt a link to continue.  Any thoughts?  New installation of WIN 7 ultimate – 64 bit,  possibly an issue installing in 64bit?
