how long deos it take to burn a movie ,say a 2 hour film .

There are many variables to consider such as your hard drive, the size of the file, the quality you are converting to .etc.

I am trying to convert a .wmv file and burn to a dvd so I can play in a regular dvd versus having to use the computer.  I selected the video file, then selected dvd as the output, then convert.  I get the green check mark next to the .mpg file, but as soon as it goes to burn the dvd, it says dvd burn fail.  What am I doing wrong?

    • ConverterLite

Your problem may have been resolved with our latest version of converterlite as we had a few bug fixes revolving our DVD burning and ripping feature. If the problem re-occurs then send us a log and it will tell us exactly what the problem is. View our support page to learn howto view and send a log.

any way to convert video files without burning to dvd at the same time. can you convert and burn later?

    • ConverterLite

You could select a DVD output format, then go to settings, copy the ffmpeg argument (ctrl+c), then choose an mpeg-2 output, go to settings, replace the ffmpeg withyour pasted version, convert. ALternatively you can just go to the temp folder when the file is converted in the burning to dvd stage. To enter the temp folder go to:
      My computer

      Local disk (C:)

      Users

      Name of your account

App data (May need to add “appdata” to the end of the address bar and hit enter)

      Roaming

      ConverterLite

Trying to copy a DVD of mine to another DVD.  The rip process goes fine, and then when I insert the second DVD I’m getting an error that the DVD doesn’t have enough memory ?

    • ConverterLite

Are you talking about a Windows memory error? Or memory on the DVD? Could yo maybe send us a screenshot of the error? If its a Windows error, my first instinct is that your PC is an old version. If it is our error, you should know that single layer dvd’s can hold 2 hours of video, and dual layers can
hold 3.5hrs. Are you going over these time limits?

I downloaded and installed the current version yesterday. Burned one MKV file to DVD, it worked fine (if a little slow.) Since then I’ve tried burning several other MKV files (including that one again) and each time I get a nearly immediate “burn failed” message. Tried a different DVD blank, tried rebooting, no luck.

    • ConverterLite

What is different between the DVD that worked and the one’s that don’t? Are
the failure DVD’s dual layer? Different brand? Something has to be different.

I have been able to burn AVI files to single layer discs with no problem. I bought double layer discs so that I could burn files that are over 2hrs. The converting stage completes but why does the burning stage fail?

        • ConverterLite

It appears there is an issue with the application we use for dvd burning
and some dual layer DVD burners. This is exactly what it sounds like is
going on here, it’s a compatibility issue and not much we can do
unfortunately! We will of course look into the problem for our future
version. Sorry for any inconvenience. Interestingly, it doesn’t always fail.

Im having out of sync audio. the orignal file is in xvid. my specs are intel i3 700 gb hdd 4gigs of ram and an intel hd 3000 graphics. is there any workarround for this issue?

    • ConverterLite

Is there anything wrong with the original video? If not (or even if there is), we MAY be able to sort a command to sync the audio and video. You’ll need to tell us how far out out of sync it is though. You’ll also need to send us a log. Check our support page for details on how to send a log.

I was converting mp4 to DVD and it was a series of things so after I convert half of them the length of the video gets around 10 minutes longer. So I go to convert it and burn to the disc like any other time but this time it says that the disc does not have enough room when in fact it should because the disc holds 2 hours or 4.7GB and the video is only 50 minutes. Do i need to buy bigger discs or change something ??

    • ConverterLite

We’re not entirely sure what is happening here. Are you saying the series of MP4 files become 10 minutes longer after conversion? Does this slow down the video an extra 10 minutes or does it add a blank 10 minutes to the end. Are you using a Blank DVD Disc?
